*** Art and Myth in Ancient Peru ***

- The History of the Jequetepeque Valley -

An Exhibition featuring a selection of pieces from The Oscar Rodriguez Razzetto Collection
in Pacasmayo.

This exhibition co-presented by The Americas Society with The Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI)
showcasing Pre-Columbian Art from the northern coast of Peru.

This unique exhibition features a selection of pieces from The Oscar Rodriguez Razzetto Collection in Pacasmayo, recently acquired by The MALI, alongside pieces recently excavated from the Jequetepeque valley and other objects from The MALI's collection. The works
on display represent 3,000 years of the region's Pre-Columbian history, illustrating the diverse
artistic styles of the various societies that occupied the Valley from the Formative Period through
the age of Inca domination.

*** BLACK et WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS ***

An Exhibition of compositions by Edward Burtynsky.

Photographs of The Gulf Oil Spill and Pentimento, black and white photographs from Shipbreaking in Bangladesh. Pentimento is a series of ten black and white Type 55 Polaroid pictures. These were made during Burtynsky’s famous project in the ship breaking yards of Bangladesh in 2000. Many of these images correspond to a colour Shipbreaking photograph and are the final study for those iconic images. These field proofs contain evidence of the Polaroid process, such as blemishes
in the emulsion and the jagged border of the negative, making them look raw and painterly. This
is the first time we have had such an intimate view of Burtynsky’s working method.
